Coaching, Community and Competitions
Congratulations to Vishal Sinha, the April 2022 BSC Athlete of the Month!
Where were you in your fitness journey before BSC and where are you now?
I joined BSC in the middle of the pandemic and at that time I had not done CrossFit for over a year. During that time I felt my fitness was not getting challenged, I was not getting stronger, and I missed the CrossFit community. Since I started BSC, I have been challenged from day one, and been guided by the coaches and other members. As a result I have seen consistent improvements in my strength and endurance over last year. This year I want to work to get muscle ups and handstand walk, do heavier weights and get faster times.
What were your goals when you started and have you achieved any of them?
My goals were to get back in shape and feel good about myself. Yes, I am able to achieve that by surviving the WODs and giving my best effort every morning.
What about BSC makes you keep coming back?
The coaches, the other members, the competitions, the strength class, and many more. I feel home at BCS.
When/what was your "ah ha!" moment?
For me it was two things [1] the coaching from all the coaches at BCS, which has helped me tremendously to grow in my fitness journey and keep wanting to learn more, and [2] the regular competitions, and other events which is a good place to test yourself.
Does anyone at the gym (member or trainer) inspire you and why?
Raminder's constant s&*t talking before every work inspires me to push harder, Carmen's words of encouragement WHILE WORKING OUT help me come through with the extra reps, and Monica literally pushes me out of bed every morning. Besides them, when I'm the last one working on finishing the workout (happens often) the entire class encourages me and keeps me going.
