April 2013

I always love to LIVE LIFE LARGE!! Problem was, at 5’6 and 230lbs and coming up on the “big 4-0” that really wasn’t the definition I had envisioned.

I had always been fairly fit. I played football, skied, rode a bike everywhere and wrestled in high school. I figured I could eat what I wanted and exercise as when I felt like it. Yeah, so that didn’t quite work out the way I planned…..

In 1995 I meet and married my better half and we always joked that when she was pregnant with our first child, I became pregnant with her. Problem was, she gave birth and my weight stayed with me.18 years later I had someone tell me, that it only gets harder after 40. That hit me hard. I knew I  was either going to struggle the rest of my life making excuses, enduring the back pain as I became heavier and heavier and hating the way shopping for a size 42 x 29 pants felt or take control of my health and make a complete lifestyle change.

That’s when I found CrossFit. And after the first day, I was hooked.

It’s been 6 months now, and after completely changing my eating habits (no bread, no rice, no pasta…clean, clean, clean!!) and committing myself to at least 5 days a week of getting to the box, I am down to a healthy weight of 170 lbs (60 lbs lighter!) and 100% healthier.

I still have more goals that I want to reach but I feel privileged to be able to train next to the best of the best. The fastest way to reach your goals is to surround yourself with people that are at the top of their game and that is exactly what Beaverton CrossFit is for me. I would be letting them down if I didn’t use what they have given me to get the results I know I can achieve and I am driven each day to take my fitness to the next level.

CrossFit is limitless for me, instead of limiting like my weight and unhealthy lifestyle was before.

It allows me to LIVE LIFE LARGE…not overweight with excuses, just solutions.

Whats not to like about Jason Roraback? The guy shows up consistently, always has a smile on, always works his hardest, always is super positive and never complains….personally I think he is amazing. When I tell Jason I want him to do single leg work instead of squats, no problem. When we put plates under his feet, no problem, when we tell him to scale, no problem…why does matter? It means he is also very coachable, a big bonus for us trainers.

Jason always brings high energy to the room and I look forward to much more of it in the future…cheers Jason!!
